Craig Fairbrass is back as Britain’s most ruthless gangster in Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution, and the latest chapter promises to take the long-running crime franchise to its biggest scale yet.
Arriving exclusively in UK cinemas on 28 August 2026, the film swaps the streets of Essex for the sun-drenched island of Ibiza, where revenge quickly spirals into an international war involving mercenaries, arms dealers and the CIA.
The story begins with Pat Tate travelling to Ibiza to avenge the murder of a close friend. What starts as a personal vendetta soon throws him into the middle of a sophisticated weapons trafficking operation run by ruthless mercenaries, played by Tamer Hassan and Leo Gregory. With American intelligence secretly monitoring every move, Tate’s brutal quest for justice threatens to derail a far larger operation.
The newly released trailer showcases everything fans have come to expect from the series: explosive shootouts, vicious hand-to-hand combat, high-speed chases and Fairbrass delivering Pat Tate’s trademark no-nonsense attitude. As enemies close in from every direction, Tate transforms into a relentless one-man army determined to settle the score, no matter how high the body count climbs.
Directed once again by Nick Nevern, the film reunites Fairbrass with a strong supporting cast including Jamie Foreman, Jana Perez, Ross McCall, Vincent Regan and Phil Davis, while professional dancer Vanessa Bauer makes her feature film debut.
Blending revenge, international espionage and hard-hitting action, Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution looks set to be the franchise’s most ambitious entry yet.
