Teenager convert his videogame skills into Kung Fu in Warrior’s Gate

Check out posters and stills to Warrior’s Gate which is set for release on August 12.

Dave Bautista joined the cast of Warrior’s Gate. Cast includes Uriah Shelton, Mark Chao, Ni Ni and Uriah Shelton.

Written by Besson and Robert Kamen, the story follows a teenager who is magically transported to China and learns to convert his videogame skills into those of a Kung Fu warrior.

“Dave Bautista is the perfect blockbuster villain – his star quality and international standing will entertain cinemagoers worldwide. Though his opponents in the film will perhaps be less pleased,” said Fundamental chairman Gao.

“It is a pretty big co-production. It is like food. You always try to find something for everybody. It is a very happy family film, kind of like Chronicles of Narnia. Mark Gao liked the story immediately when I talked to him about it,” said Besson.

Luc Besson is working on Warriors Gate, a French-Chinese co-production that’s being described as a “big production” fantasy film. At the helm of the project will be Matthias Hoene who’ll be directing a cast led by Mark Chao, Ni Ni and Uriah Shelton.

Here’s what Besson told Variety: “It is a pretty big co-production. It is like food. You always try to find something for everybody. It is a very happy family film, kind of like Chronicles of Narnia.”

Warrior’s Gate starts shooting in May. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more!
