Keira Knightley is loading up for another dangerous mission as Black Doves returns for Season 2, continuing the acclaimed spy thriller with Helen Webb caught between political power, international espionage, and a growing list of enemies.
The first season introduced Knightley as Helen, a highly trained Black Doves operative secretly working as the wife of the UK Secretary of State for Defence. Her carefully constructed double life began falling apart after the death of her lover exposed connections to London’s criminal underworld. With assassins closing in, her employers turned to her old friend Sam, played by Ben Whishaw, to keep her alive.
Created by Joe Barton, whose previous work includes The Lazarus Project and The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself, the second season picks up after the bloody events of Season 1. Helen must now navigate life as the prime minister’s wife while Sam faces a deadly ultimatum that could force him into an increasingly dangerous situation.
Things escalate when Reed, the head of the Black Doves and played by Sarah Lancashire, becomes the target of an attack. Helen and Sam are pulled into a desperate investigation as they search for answers and uncover another threat surrounding their organization.
With Knightley and Whishaw returning, Black Doves Season 2 promises more espionage, assassinations, political intrigue, and personal betrayals when the series debuts on November 5th, only on Netflix.
