A supernatural spectacle years in the making is finally ready to arrive. Netflix has announced the release of Agent from Above, one of its most ambitious and expensive Chinese-language productions to date, premiering April 2, 2026.
Adapted from the popular novel series The Oracle Comes by Teensy, the tv series blends ancient Taoist folklore with modern urban fantasy, creating a visually rich and culturally layered story. The project is part of a larger multimedia expansion, with adaptations already planned across graphic novels, gaming, and even the stage.
At the heart of the story is Han Chieh, played by Kai Ko, a troubled spirit medium seeking redemption. Forced to serve the enigmatic Third Crown Prince (Wang Po-chieh), he must confront supernatural threats spilling into the human world. Alongside him are an upbeat student portrayed by Buffy Chen and a spirit-seeing detective played by Johnny Yang.
As dark forces rise, including a chilling antagonist brought to life by Chen Yi-wen, the trio faces a looming threat that could shatter reality itself.
