The Greatest

The Greatest Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali’s journey from young boxing talent to one of the most influential figures of the 20th century takes center stage in The Greatest, a new scripted series arriving November 4 exclusively on Prime Video. The first authorized scripted series about Ali’s life promises an intimate look at the champion’s personal struggles, professional triumphs, and political battles that shaped his legacy beyond the ring.

The story follows a young Cassius Clay as he fights to define himself in a rapidly changing America. While Ali’s legendary victories and defeats have been documented countless times, The Greatest focuses on the formative years before he became a global icon, exploring the pressures, convictions, and difficult choices behind his rise to fame.

The series also revisits Ali’s historic clashes with Sonny Liston, whom he defeated in 1964 and again in 1965. These landmark fights helped establish Ali as a force in boxing, but the drama goes beyond the punches and championship glory to examine how his beliefs challenged the expectations of American society and brought personal consequences.

Executive producers include Ben Watkins, Michael B. Jordan, Shawn Carter, and Lonnie Ali, the late champion’s widow. Their involvement brings a personal dimension to a project designed to explore both the public legend and the man behind it.

With its focus on identity, ambition, and conviction, The Greatest aims to portray Ali not simply as a boxing champion, but as a man determined to control his own destiny. The series premieres November 4 on Prime Video.
