Red Eye Season 2

Red Eye returns to Hulu

Red Eye returns for Season 2 on Hulu. This time, Martin Compston steps into the spotlight, replacing Richard Armitage as the central male lead. Compston plays Clay Brody, head of security for the U.S. Embassy, and his tightly wound performance provides the season’s strongest element. He brings control, tension, and occasional bursts of intensity that give the series brief momentum.

Creator Peter A. Dowling again aims for a large-scale conspiracy thriller, shifting the focus from China to the United States while recycling familiar elements. There is another international crisis, another airplane, and another wrongly accused figure, but the twists feel rehearsed rather than sharp. The scope remains big on paper, yet the storytelling rarely lands with real impact.

Jing Lusi returns as police officer Hana Li, though the character’s dynamic with Brody relies too heavily on prolonged bickering that drains tension instead of building it. While one late emotional moment between them works, it arrives too late to fully pay off. The supporting cast largely sticks to predictable archetypes, leaving the series short on energy.

Season 2 streams now, offering moments of promise that never fully ignite.
