Ramayana Rise of a Legend

Ramayana: Rise of a Legend

One of India’s most celebrated mythological tales is heading to the big screen on an epic scale with Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, which has unveiled its first trailer ahead of a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the ambitious fantasy adventure draws inspiration from the ancient epic attributed to Valmiki and brings its legendary heroes and villains to life with spectacular visual effects.

The story follows Rama, a prince whose journey is defined by duty and sacrifice, and Ravana, an immortal king driven by vengeance. Their destinies become intertwined through an ancient prophecy, setting the stage for a clash that will determine the fate of their world. Ranbir Kapoor stars as Rama, alongside Yash and Sai Pallavi in leading roles.

Produced by Namit Malhotra, the film brings together major creative talent from Indian cinema and Hollywood. Malhotra’s visual effects company, DNEG, has worked on acclaimed productions including Dune, Interstellar, Inception, and The Odyssey. The film’s score is composed by Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman, adding another major dimension to the production.

Planned as a two-part cinematic saga, the first installment begins the larger story of sacrifice, power, and destiny. Ramayana: Rise of a Legend opens worldwide in theaters, IMAX, and premium large formats on November 5, timed for Diwali celebrations.
