New Line Cinema has officially green-lit the follow-up to the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot, with Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slater handling the script. The sequel continues the saga of Earthrealm warriors as they face new threats in the deadly tournament.
The first Mortal Kombat film opened at number one at the box office and topped HBO Max’s most-watched list during its hybrid release. With strong fan support and renewed studio backing, the franchise is set to expand its universe.
