Ian Ogilvy is trading horror for espionage in Knightfall, an upcoming action thriller that puts the veteran actor in the middle of a deadly race against time. Best known for his work in genre cinema, Ogilvy takes on a very different kind of role as a retired spy catcher forced back into action when his family becomes the target of an international threat.
Ogilvy stars as Charles Knight, an infamous intelligence operative whose quiet life is shattered when his daughter Ros, a scientist, finds herself hunted after becoming the only person capable of unlocking a stolen briefcase. The problem? Its contents are potentially catastrophic: a man-made biological weapon capable of triggering a major homeland security crisis.
With professional killers closing in, Charles and Ros have no choice but to put their differences aside and trust each other. Their mission quickly becomes a fight for survival, with the pair racing to keep the weapon out of the wrong hands before it is too late.
Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott also stars in the film, which runs a brisk 82 minutes and promises to keep its espionage story moving at a fast pace.
Knightfall is produced by Shogun Films and distributed by Saban Films. While plot details remain relatively limited, the combination of an old-school spy thriller setup, a biological weapon and Ian Ogilvy stepping outside his familiar horror territory makes the film an intriguing change of pace for the veteran actor.
