the hunt

Trip turns into a nightmare Hunt

A quiet weekend hunting trip turns into a nightmare in the French thriller tv series The Hunt (Traqués), directed by Cédric Anger and Guillaume Renusson.

The series follows Franck, played by Benoît Magimel, and his longtime friends, who gather regularly to hunt in the countryside. During one outing, they cross paths with another armed group who, without warning, begin targeting them.

Chaos erupts when one member of Franck’s party is shot. Acting in panic and self-defense, the group fires back, killing one of the attackers before fleeing the scene. Shaken and desperate to avoid consequences, the four men agree to keep the incident secret. They attempt to return to their normal routines, convinced the violence is behind them.

But the threat lingers. Franck resumes life with his wife Krystel, portrayed by Mélanie Laurent, yet unease creeps in. Strange movements in the distance. Vehicles parked too long. The sense of being watched. It becomes clear that the surviving hunters may be tracking them, seeking revenge for what happened in the woods.

Produced by Gaumont and executive produced by Sidonie Dumas, Isabelle Degeorges, Clémentine Vaudaux, and Alexis Barqueiro, The Hunt builds tension through paranoia, guilt, and escalating retaliation.
