Brad Pitt is heading back into survival mode, and this time his most important ally has four legs. Paramount’s Heart of the Beast is an intense wilderness thriller that pairs the Oscar-winning actor with a loyal combat dog in a fight against nature itself.
Directed by David Ayer, the film stars Brad Pitt as James Belmont, a former Navy SEAL whose life is turned upside down after a devastating plane crash in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. Far from civilization and with little hope of rescue, Belmont must rely on his military training, instincts, and the unwavering companionship of his retired combat canine, Odin, to stay alive.
The newly released trailer promises a gripping mix of survival drama, emotional storytelling, and edge-of-your-seat action. Battling freezing temperatures, dangerous terrain, and the constant threat of death, Belmont and Odin face challenges that test both their endurance and their bond. The film appears to place just as much focus on the relationship between man and dog as it does on the physical struggle to survive.
Joining Pitt in the cast are J. K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. With Ayer behind the camera and a powerful survival story at its core, Heart of the Beast looks set to deliver both thrills and heart when it arrives in theaters on September 25, 2026.
