Jean Claude Van Damme in Behind Closed Doors

Jean Claude says: “I don’t see Sly or Stephen Segal doing this. Maybe Arnold would do it.”

You know, I like van Damme no matter what everybody saying about him, who else tried to brake into Hollywood and spread his name over the world like he did it? Van Damme is on his second wave of popularity, of cause not so huge, but anyway, he is still the action hero and does his best in his 50s. I liked his JCVD movie, it is, for sure, one of his best works for 25 years, so probably he is trying to change the image of himself for all his fans telling how he became an international star and how it is difficult to stay on top, and he has all rights for this.

Behind Closed Doors is the intimate portrait of martial arts legend Jean Claude Van Damme, reveals the real man behind the macho image as he allows cameras total access into his extraordinary world. He bares his soul and gives us an unprecedented insight into the mind of ‘The Muscles from Brussels.’

Behind the public image is a sensitive and often tortured character who wears his heart on his sleeve. The series sees him feeling strong enough to take on the world, but also reveals a more vulnerable side to the man who regrets his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and desperately misses his family when he is away filming.

For the first time we will see both of Jean Claude’s children, Kristopher and daughter Bianca, are working alongside Jean on his latest action movie Weapon with Scott Adkins (Undisputed 3 The Movie). Moreover watchers will see how Jean Claude manages to find time to fly to the Ukraine for a cameo role in a Russian comedy film.

The first episode of Behind Closed Doors follows globe-trotting Jean Claude at work and play. After a career spanning more than 25 years with Bloodsport movie, he is still performing in macho martial arts movies and this intimate and revealing documentary series joins him on movie sets in Europe and the USA as he works on his latest productions, including the movie Weapon and Dragon Eyes, produced by big shot Hollywood producer Joel Silver. In this opening episode of the series Jean Claude introduces viewers to three generations of his family as he films his first movie alongside his two children and adds a new member to the Van Damme family. He also fits in a whistle-stop visit to the Ukraine to star in a Russian comedy film and reveals how he and his wife Gladys keep their marriage strong when he’s away on the road.
