Beast steps into the cage with a high-stakes mixed martial arts drama led by Russell Crowe and Daniel MacPherson. Set in the brutal world of professional MMA, the film centers on a former champion forced out of retirement when his younger brother’s life is threatened.
Once feared inside the cage, the aging fighter has spent years away from the spotlight. That changes when circumstances drag him back into the sport he once ruled. To prepare for one final run, he reunites with the trainer who built him into a legend. Standing in his path is the current title-holder, a relentless and younger champion determined to destroy the ex-champ’s reputation on the biggest stage possible. For the returning contender, the equation is clear: win, or lose everything he has rebuilt.
The film is directed by Tyler Atkins and produced by Broken Open Pictures. Crowe co-wrote the screenplay with David Frigerio, who also serves as producer alongside Tim O’Hair and John Schwarz. One Championship is collaborating on the project, grounding the story in authentic fight culture.
Principal photography took place in Bangkok at the Impact Arena, with One Championship’s Friday Fights event on January 24, 2025 providing the backdrop for a key sequence.
Beast is scheduled for U.S. release on April 10, 2026.
