Tony Jaa, Dave Bautista and Michelle Yeoh joined the cast of Cheung Tin Chi based on the one character of Ip Man 3.
Something really ass-kicking cooking out there, let’s wait when the shooting starts. As Tony is currently busy with Triple Threat and Dave Bautista with Escape Plan 2 we can expect the film starts shooting somewhere this summer.

During Cannes Festival Yuen Woo Ping announced that he will be directing Ip Man spin-off with Max Zhang as a lead. Max played character Cheung Tin Chi defeated by Ip Man with one-inch punch during a final fight in Ip Man 3.
Max Zhang, born as Zhang Jin, is a former wushu athlete who won the Best Supporting Actor at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards. He began his career as a stunt actor in notably in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as a stunt double for Zhang Ziyi. Later he shined in such martial arts movies as The Grandmaster, Rise of the Legend and SPL II: A Time for Consequences where he fought Tony Jaa and Wu Jing.
Very good achievement for such a short movie career! Max Zhang definitely has skills and we witness the raise of the new action star. So let’s wish him luck.
