Netflix is gearing up for a major jolt of adrenaline as The Night Agent returns for its third season, arriving February 19.
The political crime thriller has become one of the platform’s most reliable global hits, routinely surging to the top of Netflix’s Top 10 with each new release. That momentum began in March 2023, when Season 1 debuted to a staggering 168 million hours viewed in just four days, confirming strong demand for the adaptation of Matthew Quirk’s novel and prompting swift renewals.
The series follows FBI Agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), whose life changes dramatically after he is wrongly linked to a DC Metro bombing and reassigned to the White House basement as a Night Agent. Tasked with monitoring an emergency phone line that rarely rings, Peter is pulled into a lethal conspiracy when tech entrepreneur Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) calls for help after her aunt and uncle are assassinated. Together, they uncover a White House mole and stop an attack on the president.
Season 2 escalated the stakes, reuniting Peter and Rose to stop a chemical weapon attack on the United Nations. New allies and enemies emerged, including intelligence broker Jacob Monroe, who forced Peter into a dangerous double-agent role.
As Season 3 approaches, Peter faces a new chapter without one key ally, setting the stage for another high-risk mission that promises to push the series’ tension and scale even further.
