Wuxia trilogy about four detectives in ancient China

The Four is a new martial arts movie from Gordon Chan, who worked on such movies as Fist of Legend with Jet Li, Thunderbolt and The Medallion with Jackie Chan, Legend of the Fist The Return of Chen Zhen with Donnie Yen. It based on author Wan Ray-an’s famous novels about four detectives in ancient China played by Deng Chao, Ronald Cheng, Collin Chou, and Crystal Liu.

Collin Chou

He was born on 11 August 1967 in Taiwan and has 8 brothers and 4 Sisters. He is a former member of the Hung Ga Ban (Sammo Hung Kam-Bo Stuntman Association). Was chosen to take over as Seraph in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003) after Jet Li has chosen not to work on the sequels. After July 1997, Collin Chou decided to use his real name instead of his stage name of Ngai Sing.

Gordon Chan said: “I never shoot real wuxia films. In this field, my best teacher was Tsui Hark, and I don’t dare get involved in this casually. I hope my teacher is able to see my efforts in this film.”

The Four will be released in China on July 12th, 2012 and is just the first installment of a planned wuxia trilogy.
