Martial arts icon Scott Adkins takes the lead in Prisoner of War, a WWII action drama set in a Philippine POW camp. Adkins plays British SAS officer James Wright, a captured soldier forced into deadly combat by his Japanese captors. As the prisoners face brutal death matches, Wright becomes their only hope of survival before they’re forced onto the infamous Bataan Death March.
Adkins, known for John Wick: Chapter 4, delivers what’s being called a career-best performance. He reunites with The Debt Collectors co-star Louis Mandylor in this gritty war epic.
Originally titled Death March, the film has been officially renamed Prisoner of War. Well Go USA has picked up North American distribution and is expected to release the film on September 19.
Combining intense martial arts action with historical themes, Prisoner of War aims to offer a fresh take on the WWII genre, driven by Adkins’ physicality and screen presence. More release details are expected soon.
