A great pack of martial artists such as Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, Matt Mullins and Darren Shahlavi with support of fighting choreographer Larnell Stovall will appear on tv screens in the upcoming French/UK sci-fi adventure TV series Metal Hurlant Chronicles. Rutger Hauer, Joe Flanigan and James Marsters have joined the cast too.
The series is a live-action adaptation of the French science-fiction and horror comic anthology books of the same name. Twenty four half-hour episodes have been approved and will screen as two 12-episode seasons scheduled for European delivery in April 2012 and November 2012 respectively.
Sony Pictures Television has acquired French sci-fi TV series “Metal Hurlant Chronicles” for distribution in various European territories. SPT will roll out the skein in Germany, Austria, German-speaking Switzerland and Luxembourg via its pay TV network. Deal also includes distribution across Central Europe, including Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Moldavia.
Show has already been pre-bought in more than 22 territories.
Each episode will adapt stories from the original graphic novels. Metal Hurlant, which was co-created by comic artists Jean Giraud (aka Moebius) and Philippe Druillet in 1974, became a popular anthology for sci-fi fans in the 1980s.
