The legend of Ip Man returns once again in a new martial arts epic that throws the iconic master into one of his most dangerous battles yet behind prison walls.
Set in 1950s Hong Kong, the upcoming film follows rising tensions as British merchants and Chinese triads join forces to seize territory, demolishing factories and crushing local communities in the process. Refusing to stay silent, Ip Man stands up for the workers and challenges the growing corruption surrounding him. But his resistance comes at a brutal cost.
Framed for murder and thrown into prison, Ip Man suddenly finds himself trapped in a deadly game orchestrated by the triads. Inside the prison, assassins and violent gangs wait around every corner, forcing the Wing Chun master to fight not only for survival but to clear his name.
While fans worldwide know Donnie Yen for portraying the martial arts icon across the blockbuster “Ip Man” franchise, this branch of the series stars Dennis To as a younger version of the legendary fighter. To previously played the role in Ip Man: The Legend Is Born and several follow-up appearances.
Now picked up for international distribution by Well Go USA, the film will punch its way into North American release on July 14, promising prison fights, political intrigue, and classic Wing Chun action.
