Director Guy Ritchie returns to the action-thriller arena with In The Grey, a high-stakes heist film led by Jake Gyllenhaal, Henry Cavill, and Eiza González.
The movie follows an elite covert team sent to recover a stolen billion-dollar fortune taken by a ruthless despot. Gyllenhaal plays Bronco, while Cavill portrays Sid, two operatives who operate in the moral gray zone between legal authority and criminal tactics. Their mission leads them to a heavily fortified private island controlled by the tyrant responsible for the theft. The location is protected by a personal militia, turning the operation into far more than a simple infiltration.
As Sophia, González’s character explains, the team works “between the moral and the immoral,” navigating a world where alliances shift and loyalty is never guaranteed. What begins as a daring covert heist soon spirals into a larger conflict involving strategy, deception, and full-scale combat.
The film continues Ritchie’s recent collaborations with several cast members. Cavill previously starred in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, while González appeared alongside him in the latter. Gyllenhaal also worked with Ritchie on The Covenant.
In The Grey is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 15.
