Since From Paris with Love in 2010 John Travolta didn’t do any good action movie. In his 62 he decided to go to the good old days when was able to beat the crap out of every guy like he did in Face/Off.
Directed by Chuck Russell new action film I Am Wrath focused on a man with a mysterious but violent past, wages war against those responsible for the death of his wife. Travolta is taking this role as seriously as he should.
Chuck Russell made a few good action movies such as The Scorpion King with Rock, Eraser with Schwarzenegger and The Mask with Jim Carrey, and I really like his vision so expect to see a really nice flick with Travolta as a lead this time.
For the fight sequences producers invited Don Thai, Jon Valera and Daniel Hernandez. Don Thai has worked as a member of Jackie Chan‘s Stunt Team and 87Eleven Action Design Co. (team behind John Wick), Jon Valera is currently working on fighting choreography to Vin Diesel‘s xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, and Daniel Hernandez just finished working on John Wick Chapter Two. As you can see we have everything to see one of the best screen fights ever.
No wonder this movie is noticeably leaning into some stylistic elements of another recent hit revenger John Wick, but that’s not a bad thing as long as it has something to offer.
I Am Wrath is available on VOD starting April 15th and opens in theaters on May 13th.
