Prime Video is bringing a new romantic thriller to its lineup with Enfrentados, the first installment in a planned two-part story starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García.
The film follows Marfil Cortés, the privileged daughter of a powerful Spanish business tycoon whose seemingly perfect life in New York collapses when she is kidnapped and then mysteriously released. Concerned that the danger is far from over, her father hires Sebastian Moore, an enigmatic and highly disciplined bodyguard, to keep her safe.
Marfil is hardly thrilled about having someone watching her every move. She is fiercely independent, while Sebastian keeps his emotions firmly under control. Naturally, that professional distance begins to disappear as the two are forced closer together. Their growing attraction becomes even more complicated when they return to Spain and discover that the threats surrounding Marfil are far more dangerous than they initially believed.
With secrets, family power struggles, romance and potential betrayal in the mix, Enfrentados looks set to blend the glossy atmosphere of a romantic drama with the tension of a thriller. The film is based on the popular Spanish story by Mercedes Ron and marks the first half of the Enfrentados duology.
Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García lead the cast, with the film heading exclusively to Prime Video on September 9.
