Donnie Yen teams up again with Jackie Chan

Donnie Yen is a movie making machine, which cranks out three-four movies a year. He was talking about a break and sometimes wanted to retire, but week ago he’s signed on two new movies.

Donnie Yen will meet Jackie Chan on screen for an upcoming heist martial arts movie entitled Ultimate Code Break. This will be the third time the two kung fu legends will be joining forces, prior works include Shanghai Knights and Twins Effect II. Donnie Yen is set to play the leading role in the upcoming film as well as the film’s action choreographer. Jackie on the other hand is set to produce and have a cameo role, so sadly the anticipation of an epic showdown like in Shanghai Knights between the two is unlikely.

Details of this new collaboration are very scarce, not even a director has been named yet. However filming of this new project has been reported to begin in December. Anyway this is something you don’t want to miss!

Another film is a remake of The Iceman Cometh mixes the wu xia films and the modern day martial arts movies. I have not seen the original movie with Yuen Biao, which was released in Hong Kong in 1989 and grossed $14M HK. Not sure it worths to be remaked, so may be it will be just a variation of this movie. Interesting to see how Donnie kicks ass in two different time periods and fighting styles.

So do not miss it while waiting for him to sign up for Ip Man 3 and collaboration with the three brothers Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung. It will be epic!
