Matthias Hues is going to come in peace again in Dark Angel 2

Dark Angel 2

Action star Matthias Hues is working on long awaited sequel to his legendary film I Come in Peace. Details are still under wraps but Hues sounded optimistically when he posted news on his official tweeter and FB page. Rumor has it that producers of original movie are teaming up with Matthias to finally move forward with another Dark Angel movie.

True action movie fans remember the classic movie Dark Angel where Dolph Lundgren was trying to find an Alien killing people with heroin and removing the endorphins from the brain. Movie was released in 1990 with a budget of $7,000,000 and chemistry between Lundgren and Hues worked superbly for its success. Unfortunately film flopped in US but was received mostly positively in Europe, and did good business in the UK particularly on video.

The 80’s itself was a great time for action movies and the concept of the Alien injecting victims and then using hi-tech removing the endorphins from the brain is something absolutely new and has been never seen before and after. Moreover this is the film with one of the most unique and original storylines ever, flavoured with the largest number of exploding cars ever.

Director Craig R. Baxley is a former stuntman and stunt coordinator, and he knows how to crash stuff and blow it up real good. Last time he directed an episode of Human Target TV show in 2011, but in 2017 we will see him in the new documentary Henchman: The Al Leong Story, this is the movie about a great but underrated Al Leong who played villains in such films as Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Big Trouble in Little China, Rapid Fire, Death Warrant, The Perfect Weapon and many more.

Craig Baxley is a third-generation filmmaker. After starting his career in front of the camera, working his way up as a successful stunt coordinator and second unit director on films like Predator and The Long Riders, he transitioned making his directorial debut on the acclaimed hit series The A-Team. His first feature film as a director was Action Jackson and later went on to direct Dark Angel. He is the son of legendary stuntman Paul Baxley, cousin of stuntman Gary Baxley, Father of stuntman Craig Baxley Jr. and grandfather of stunt performer Cash Baxley.

Dark Angel was a guilty pleasure movie like Navy Seals, Die Hard or Total Recall, and every action fan seen this movie like 10 times or more. If you still don’t have Blu-ray in your collection you must get it today.

I only hope Dark Angel 2 will be another most pyrotechnic action movie with a good half of budget spent on explosives.
