Group of villagers standing up to a cruel warlord in Call Of Heroes

Benny Chan and Sammo Hung present us the new martial arts movie Call Of Heroes with amazing cast of Louis Koo, Eddie Peng, Sean Lau, Wu Jing and Yuan Quan.

For those who never heard of Benny Chan (I hope you are not one of them) let me give him some credits. This man worked mostly with Jackie Chan on such movies as Who Am I?, New Police Story, Shaolin, he also directed City Under Siege, Invisible Target, The White Storm, he produced 2000 AD and Gen-X Cops, and worked on Fist of Fury TV series with Donnie Yen.

If you have Sammo Hung on board as action choreographer you can be sure fights are going to be impressive.

Call Of Heroes made in wuxia genre and tells the story of a group of villagers standing up to a cruel young warlord in 1914 following the collapse of the Qing dynasty.

The project budget is US$32 million and was first announced at the 2015 Hong Kong Filmart under the title The Deadly Reclaim but it has been changed to Call of Heroes in March 2016 during premiere of the teaser trailer. Sean Lau had to train to use a whip to prepare his role as a guardian leader of Pucheng village.

Well Go has also taken UK rights to the $32m martial arts film in partnership with the UK’s Trinity Film. Germany’s Splendid Film has acquired rights for German-speaking territories and Benelux.

Call Of Heroes movie opens in Hong Kong on August 18.

Check out the trailer below.
