Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is stepping into his biggest movie role yet as the star of Atlas King, a hard-hitting action thriller arriving on digital and on-demand platforms on August 21.
The newly released trailer promises brutal underground fights, organized crime, and a former champion forced back into battle.
Bisping plays Atlas, a retired mixed martial arts legend who returns to his hometown for a funeral, only to discover that the city’s criminal underworld has transformed since he walked away. The once-familiar fight scene is now controlled by ruthless crime boss Clay Emerson, played by Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr., whose grip on the underground threatens everyone who stands in his way.
When Atlas realizes that Dutch’s hot-headed son Tommy is in danger, along with Penelope, who is desperately trying to hold her fractured family together, he has no choice but to return to the life he left behind. What follows is a violent mix of underground tournaments, dangerous heists, and explosive confrontations as Atlas fights to protect those closest to him while reclaiming his city’s fighting legacy.
For combat sports fans, Atlas King is especially intriguing as it marks Bisping’s first leading role in a feature film, blending authentic fight action with a gritty crime story built around loyalty, family, and redemption.
