Victoria Mahoney is set to take over directing duties for The Old Guard 2. The original director Gina Prince-Bythewood had to drop out of the sequel but will remain on-board as a producer.
Part 2 will stick to the original novel. According to what author Greg (Rucka) wrote, Quynh’s rise will cause many problems. Besides, there are side stories that bring trouble around the world, a villain is not immortal, so it’s a really great balance between the two sides.
Production is expected to start rolling in the first quarter of 2022.
The film stars Charlize Theron, Veronica Ngo, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Uma Thurman and Henry Golding recently joined the movie.
