Watch the first teaser to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Sword of Destiny premieres on February 26th, 2016 on Netflix.

“I’m facing the challenge while understanding the difficulties. Although I know we made a classic before, I’m still willing to try. (Regarding the script) Americans don’t really understand Chinese inner feelings and emotion. I knew he (script writer John Fusco) did a lot of research, but it still wasn’t enough, and the story is flat. I had to get a Chinese script writer to help, to explore more depth in the inner core of Chinese emotions.” – Yuen Woo-Ping.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Sword of Destiny will be released by Netflix on February 8, 2016.

Nicholas Tse will be portraying the son of Yu Jiaolong in the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2, with Xia Zitong as his girlfriend. When his manager Mani Fok was asked for details, she shared, “He will be playing Zhang Ziyi’s son, but nothing is confirmed yet. His schedule is very hard to arrange.” For two months starting in June, Nicholas will be busy in Thailand with Chow Yun Fat to film another movie produced by Wong Jing.

According to reports, Nicholas was given the opportunity to star in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2 because the script is written entirely in English. Having studied in Canada as a student, Nicholas is able to speak English fluently. Nicholas is expected to earn approximately 15 million RMB through the role.

Yuen Woo Ping begins to start filming Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Sword of Destiny this May in New Zealand. Can we expect some Hobbit landscape views?

After waiting 14 years, Hollywood producer, David Thwaites, finally announced that they will begin production for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2. Originally scheduled to have filming commence in early March, the shooting has been moved to May due to negotiations on casting.

Donnie disclosed that he is not looking for an individual breakthrough performance for his role in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2, but rather, he insists that maintaining the quality of the film is most important.

Mainland Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming is currently in talks to join Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2: The Green Destiny, which will begin filming next year. Already confirmed cast members include Michelle Yeoh, who will reprise her role from the first movie, and Donnie Yen as her childhood friend.

Yuen Woo Ping, the martial arts choreographer for the first film, will return for the sequel, this time as the director.

The Weinstein Company announced at the Cannes Film Festival that the Crouching Tiger sequel would begin filming in March 2014. The storyline will be adapted from the book Iron Knight, Silver Vase, written by novelist Wang Dulu. This book is the fifth installment in Wang’s wuxia-romance pentalogy, the Crane Iron Series, and its story focuses on events that happen in the generation after that of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

“I extremely like Ang Lee’s movies,” said Harvey Weinstein, “But we believe that this movie will be equally wonderful in the hands of Yuen Woo Ping.”

The producers would love to see Donnie Yen in the sequel of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon martial arts movie alongside Michelle Yeoh who will return, but Yen is concerned that his schedule may be too packed – he has to shoot Ip Man 3D.

Martial arts buffs will remember that Donnie Yen and Michelle Yeoh shared the screen once before in Yuen Woo-ping’s excellent Wing Chun.

Ronny Yu was offered to direct Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel but turned it down out of respect to Ang Lee.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which starred Michelle Yeoh, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and Hong Kong actor Chow Yun Fat, was based on the fourth book in Chinese writer Wang Du Lu’s “Crane-Iron” series of books.

Its sequel will apparently be based on the final book in Wang’s pentalogy, Iron Knight-Silver Vase.

The sequel is expected to be completed in 2014.
